Company Modern Slavery Statement
Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth)
As a SME trading below the Australian consolidated $100m threshold, GreenSpaces Pty Ltd is not required to make a formal statement. However, we do recognise that many of our clients seek reassurance in relation to compliance with the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2018.
Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking. All of which, have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain. We are committed to improving and monitoring our practices to combat slavery and human trafficking.
Organisational structure
We are a provider of horticultural services to various types of client organisations in Queensland. Our main services are provided by our valued teams. A good, and constantly evolving organisational culture is evident within our business. There is a policy of rewarding good and engaging employees well-above the award levels.
Our supply chains
GreenSpaces is committed to ensuring modern slavery is not present in its supply chains and will continue to develop policy and procedures to manage the way it obtains goods and services to keep its supply chains robust and free from modern slavery.
Our supply chains include sub-contractors, each of whom have their own independent business, professional services firms (accountancy and insurance brokers), suppliers of equipment, consumables and services in connection with our trade, all of which are located in Queensland.
A risk assessment of large and smaller or local suppliers was commissioned by the director in March 2025, the results of which are available in the company’s April 2025 ESG Report.
Our commitment to combating slavery and human trafficking
We believe that there are relatively few risks in our current supply chains, or within our business. One of the reasons for this is because we are guided by our overall approach to doing business which requires high standards of honesty and integrity from our team.
Due diligence processes for slavery and human trafficking
Irrespective of an entity’s size or perceived reputation; should a risk assessment ever identify some doubts in relation to a supplier, a unique follow-up process pertaining to that particular supplier will be devised, complied, documented, and executed.
